Our Board Members

James Wilcox is a Managing Director in the Investment Management Division of First Republic. Mr. Wilcox is a member of the First Republic Asset Allocation Committee and the First Republic Altair Investment Committee.
Prior to joining First Republic, Mr. Wilcox worked for 18 years at Goldman Sachs and was a Vice President in the Investment Management Division. Mr. Wilcox focuses on wealth management for families and foundations. He began his career as Press Secretary to U.S. House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Bill Archer of Texas.
Mr. Wilcox currently serves as Chair of the Los Angeles Advisory Board for the Posse Foundation and on the Posse Foundation National Board. In addition to this, Mr. Wilcox serves as a volunteer firefighter for the Jackson Hole Fire & EMS/ Teton County, Wyoming.
James Wilcox, Chair

Andy has been a trial lawyer for over 41 years and now primarily arbitrates contract, construction, and commercial disputes for the American Arbitration Association in Wyoming and surrounding states. Throughout his career, he has litigated a wide variety of land use, environmental, commercial and real estate disputes in Washington, Wyoming, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, California, Montana and North Dakota before federal, state and Tribal courts and federal and state administrative agencies. His clients have included corporations large and small, national banks, Native American Tribes, entertainers, citizens groups, nonprofit organizations, and individuals. Andy currently serves on the Teton County Historic Preservation Board, as a member of the Advisory Board for the Teton Raptor Center and as a member of the Northern Rockies Regional Council of the National Parks Conservation Association.
Andy Salter, Vice Chair

Mark is an active member of the community since moving to Jackson in 2017. In addition to his service as a director and treasurer of the Coombs Foundation, he serves on the board of directors for the Teton Science School. Prior to moving to Jackson Mark lived in San Diego, California and was President of Sempra Energy, a San Diego based Fortune 200 firm. He retired in 2017.
Before moving to Jackson Mark was active in the San Diego community as well. Serving as the Chairman of the Board of the business school at San Diego State University and a member of the Board of Trustees of Rady Children’s Hospital of San Diego. Mark has also served as an independent director for two public NYSE companies.
Mark and his wife Teri have two grown children and two grandchildren. Their son Danny and his wife Shannon and their two children live in Los Angeles California and their daughter Taylor and her husband Jeremy live in Bozeman Montana. Mark is an avid skier and flyfisher among other outdoor activities.
Mark Snell, Treasurer

Nancy Gardiner has been coming to Jackson for over 20 years each winter to ski. She is originally from Montreal, Canada and raised her family of 4 children in Larchmont, New York. In 2020 she made Jackson her primary home and fell in love with summers in Jackson. In New York, she served on several not for profit boards including one that provides need-based college scholarships to local high school students as well as the First Generation Fund of Mamaroneck which raises funds to send first generation students to college. In Jackson, Nancy has volunteered at the Teton Literacy Center and delivers meals to seniors through the Senior Center. She loves skiing, biking and hiking in the beautiful Tetons.
Nancy Gardiner, Secretary

Randy is a managing partner of LWJ & Co., a private partnership focused on investing in early stage companies with high growth potential.
After graduating from Brown University, Randy worked at Bankers Trust Company. He then earned his MBA at Harvard and worked in finance for over 20 years, including as a senior executive at Salomon Brothers, Salomon Smith Barney, and Citigroup. Randy’s primary responsibilities included oversight of fixed income trading, sales, syndication and capital markets activities for the high yield, high grade, loans and emerging markets businesses.
Randy was raised in Asia. His family began visiting Jackson in the late ‘60s while on home leave, staying at the White Grass Ranch. Randy and his wife Debbie enjoy many of the great outdoor activities that Jackson is known for – hiking, cycling, skiing, and fishing.
Randy Barker

Kathleen is a Human Resources executive, most recently leading the people and talent functions for a subsidiary of Cigna. Prior to her twelve-year healthcare career, she was a partner in the consulting firm of Hewitt (Aon Hewitt), leading her function within the southeast region of the United States.
Kathleen received her Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree at Loyola University of Chicago. She has held the following professional designations: Certified Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP); Certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), by the HR Certification Institute; ATD and MMS coaching certificates, is a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and recently became certified in Mental Health First Aid USA through the National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare. Kathleen is an outdoor enthusiast and excited to support the mission of Coombs Outdoors.
Kathleen Brown

Theresa Brunker is an English language instructor at Central Wyoming College, and is committed to closing the educational and opportunity gaps in our community through meaningful cross-cultural relationships both in and out of the classroom.
Theresa has an MA in Teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) and a BA in English/French. Originally from Minnesota, she grew up adventuring in the Boundary Waters where outdoor experiences helped shape her character, build perseverance and helped her discover her inner strength. She and her husband have three young-adult children who have been hiking, biking and skiing in the Tetons since 2005. Theresa is passionate about the transformative power of communing with our natural environment and wants to ensure that these experiences are accessible to all.
Theresa Brunker

Mary is a trauma informed movement, yoga and mindfulness teacher. A native of Cleveland, Ohio where she works for ZENworks Yoga, a non-profit organization, which brings yoga and mindfulness into the metropolitan school district serving pre-K-12th graders. In addition to being in the classroom with students she has developed and teaches chidrens yoga and mindfulness curriculum. Mary is also an Interior Designer with over 30 years in the field. She has other board affiliations and is a community volunteer.
Mary has a long history of visiting the Jackson area and she and her family established roots in Wilson in 2012. Coombs Outdoors serves a similar community to the one with which Mary works. The therapeutic benefits of recreating outdoors in concert with one's peers drew her to Coombs. Not only does the programming benefit the participants but the entire Jackson community.
Mary Weatherhead Feldman

Jay is the retired CEO and current Board Chair of Andersen Windows and Doors. After raising their family of five children in Hudson, Wisconsin, Jay and his wife Gail moved to Jackson in 2023. Jay and Gail are avid skiers and hikers and were drawn to the mission of Coombs Outdoors, as outdoor pursuits have been of lifelong passion for their family. In addition to serving on the Coombs Board, Jay serves on the St. Olaf College Board of Regents and is a long-time supporter of Habitat for Humanity.
Jay Lund

Kevin Luzak is the founder of Cache_Seven, a platform on which outdoor professionals market their adventures and recommend the gear required to pursue them. He is also the managing partner of Archer Holdings LLC, which manages a portfolio of privately held investments.
Kevin has served on numerous corporate and philanthropic boards and is currently a member of the governing council of the Wilderness Society, the Squash Doubles Association Pro Tour, US Squash, and the US Squash Foundation.
He began his career as a professional sailor and spent 30 years in investment banking and private equity. He and his family live in Jackson, WY.
Kevin Luzak

Paige’s passion for the incredible beauty of Jackson Hole and being active in the outdoors were stoked in 1994 when she and her husband Ian spent a week camping at Jenny Lake. That experience drew the two of them back to the valley as full-time residents in early 2020.
Over the last four years, Paige has been actively involved in the Grand Teton National Park as a volunteer park ranger at String and Jenny Lakes in the summer and as a ski ambassador at Bradley Taggart in the winter. She’s also an active volunteer at the Jackson Cupboard and recently joined Womentum as a mentor working with young professional women in Teton County. Coombs provides Paige a wonderful opportunity to combine her love of the outdoors, education and mentoring to help young people thrive and grow.
Her professional experiences include over 20 years of curriculum development and teaching environmental education for the Richardson Bay Audubon Center & Sanctuary, San Francisco State’s Estuary Camp; Ocean Science Center and the residential outdoor education program run by the Point Bonita YMCA, a unique branch of the SFYMCA in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
Paige and her husband Ian, who met at the University of Virginia, have two adult children, a daughter who currently lives in Asheville, NC and a son who is a Naval Officer currently stationed in San Diego, CA.
She is excited to be a member of the Coombs board because “it is a privilege to help support and promote an organization that connects kids to nature, each other, the community and themselves!”
Paige Macleod

Born in Mexico City, Brenda embarked on a life-changing journey when she moved to Driggs, ID at the age of 11. In 2013, Brenda and her 2 daughters moved to Jackson Hole where she found love and a new sense of belonging. Brenda has firmly planted roots in Jackson and fostered meaningful connections within the community. She couldn't imagine living anywhere else.
In 2015, she launched a real estate career, initially immersing herself in property management roles ranging from office assistant to property manager of short-term rentals. Today, Brenda is a Real Estate Advisor at Engel & Volkers Jackson Hole, specializing in assisting the Latino community with their real estate needs.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Brenda is an active member of her community and church. She serves on the Parish Council and the Pastoral Planning Committee, where her insights and dedication contribute to the community's growth and cohesion. Additionally, Brenda plays a pivotal role as the Latino leader of the Hispanic ministries and leads the Latino Choir, fostering unity and cultural celebration within the church.
Brenda is deeply involved in Coombs programs, where her whole family not only learned to ski but also found a shared passion for outdoor activities. She is honored to be part of the Coombs Board and hopes to help other families connect with Coombs.
Brenda Martinez

Marshall Parke is currently Senior Partner of Western Venture Partners, a venture capital firm based in Jackson with offices in London and New York. He was previously Managing Partner -International and Vice Chairman of Lexington Partners, based in London and responsible for the firm's activities outside the United States with offices in London, Hong Kong and Santiago. Lexington is a world leader in the private equity secondaries business and was recently acquired by Franklin Templeton.
Earlier in his career Marshall founded and built Manistee Limited, a Bangkok based merchant bank focusing on advising and building businesses in SouthEast Asia. At Manistee Mr Parke started six businesses focused on Investment banking, semiconductor assembly, advertising and environmental solutions. Mr Parke started his finance career with the Chase Manhattan Bank, and subsequently joined the HongKong & Shanghai Banking Corporation in Hong Kong.
Mr. Parke is Vice Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Elliott school of International Affairs at George Washington University and Chairman of the SHARE Fellowship Program at the Thunderbird School of International Management.
Marshall and his wife Veronique have three children and divide their time between Jackson Hole, London, and Paris.
Marshall Parke

For the past 22 years, Fernando has had the pleasure of calling Jackson Hole “Mi Casa.” He earned his C.P.A. degree and specialty in Corporate Finance from the Technological University of Mexico. He has over 20 years of experience in the Hospitality Industry, showing him how important it is to support our local community. He has enjoyed involvement in the valley by joining different causes and organizations, from serving as Translator for the School District to the TCSD Collaborative Community Committee and the Lodging Tax PAC in the past. Fernando currently serves as a board member in the JH Chamber of Commerce, Teton Literacy Center, and Immigration Hope organizations.
He is the Finance Director for Rendezvous Mountain Rentals and his passion for numbers comes from a love for baseball. When not in his office, he enjoys playing baseball, tennis, cycling, and rooting in the stands for his kids at their games and tournaments. Fernando married his college sweetheart Claudia in 2005, and together they have raised Tawnya and Fernando Jr.
Fernando Ramos
Merridy and her husband Joe retired and moved to Jackson full time in September 2017. She grew up in Montreal, Quebec and moved to the States for college. She and her husband, who she met in college, settled in a suburb of Chicago and have 4 children and now grandchildren.
In Jackson, she spends the winter months skiing as a mountain host and in 2 local ski groups. Skiing is her passion and she is beyond excited to share it with the Coombs kids! She also loves golf, hiking, boating and swimming. She grew up swimming competitively through college and coached for many years in Chicago.
She loves being involved with all the programs Coombs offers.
Merridy Scott

Scott Spector is a Principal and Co-founder of Kodiak Properties, L.L.C. as well as SPMC Urban Properties, LLC. Mr. Spector’s 40-year professional career has included: Principal and Co-founder of PrimeCore Realty Advisors, Inc., a full service real estate advisory firm, specializing in the acquisition of outstanding real estate investments for a select group of investor clients; Principal of Triad Partners, a diversified real estate consulting joint venture partnership that provides portfolio asset management services to institutional and individual clients; and Vice President of Leasing, Development and Acquisitions for Demar, Inc., where Mr. Spector completed significant transactions with many other Fortune 500 companies such as Shell Oil, Security Pacific Corporation, Merrill Lynch, Westinghouse Electric Company, Gulf & Western, Prudential, Xerox, and Norwest Mortgage Company.
Scott has extension experience in nearly every aspect of the commercial real estate business from acquisition and development to leasing, management and disposition. He has also been involved in a broad range of income-producing properties, including office buildings, industrial/R & D projects, retail centers and multi-family developments.
Mr. Spector’s professional involvements include memberships in the Urban Land Institute, National Association of Industrial and Office Parks (NAIOP) and the District of Columbia Building Industry Association (DCBIA). He was the Co-Chairman for the 2003 and 2004 International Council of Shopping Centers Mid-Atlantic Idea Exchange Program.
Additionally, Mr. Spector is active in local charities. He has served on the board of Friends of Pathways and was on the Resource Council for the Grand Teton National Park Foundation. In Washington, DC, Mr. Spector is on the Executive Committee and the Board of the Sitar Center, an after-school program in the visual arts, music, drama, dance and creative writing. Formerly, Mr. Spector served as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Phillips Collection, Washington, DC’s leading modern art museum as well as on the Board of Miriam’s Kitchen an organization dedicated to ending chronic homelessness in Washington, DC. He is a graduate of Cornell University.
Scott Spector

Doug is an alpine guide but is considered the real deal as far as international ski guiding goes. Doug is one of the more thoughtful and insightful people in the mountains that you'll meet and his philosophy on guiding may not be what you think.
Doug Workman has been taking risks on the snow since he was a toddler learning to ski at Powder Ridge in Connecticut. Since then he has found many other places to experiment with risk taking and risk management—Alaska, Pakistan, Iceland, China, Morocco, Svalbard, Antarctica, and in his backyard—the Tetons. He makes his home in Jackson, Wyoming with his wife and two children where he works as a Mountain Guide and Avalanche Program Manager for Mammut North America.
